Airedale Terriers of Trevorwood, puppies - Violet's litter 9/12/09

TREVORWOOD SWEET VIOLET NOT HAS BEEN BREED TO MARGO DUPRE'S LOVELY YOUNG DOG, TRAYMAR'S M J SPELLBOUND. PUPPIES ARE DUE ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER. 10, 2009. THE SONOGRAM SHOWS ONLY FOUR PUPPIES, SHE WILL BE ULTRASOUNDED AGAIN NEXT WEEK TO SEE IF THERE ARE MORE OR LESS. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS LITTER! UPDATE August 12th, 2009 Second ultrasound shows SEVEN or EIGHT puppies!!! MORE IFORMATION WILL FOLLOW SOON!!!!!!!
Today was our birthday! Sweet Violet trying to smile through the early hours of labor. 1 POTATO [ Ms Pink ] 2 POTATO [ Mr Red ] 3 POTATO 4 [ Ms Violet + Mr Green ] 5 POTATO [ Ms Cornflower ] 6 POTATO [ Mr Orange ] 7 POTATO [ Mr Blue ] MORE !! 8 POTATO [ Mr Purple ] These 4 new born puppies are hungry hungry! All 8 puppies getting a warm meal. Ms Cornflower just after she was born. Snuggling with Mom is the best! Well, after eating that is ... Mr Blue *does doga* [dog yoga] to make his muscles strong! Sweet Violet resting between births with 3 of her wonderful puppies! Am I done now? Sweet Violet knows that a mom's work is never done and that multi tasking is necessary when you have 8 strong, healthy, wonderful puppies!! Happy tired Mom and puppies! What a beautiful day September 12th, 2009 turned out to be!!**
It came to my attention through the eyes of a wonderful 20 year old woman, who I have known since she was four, that she thought puppies were all born at once, not so!! In a big litter puppies birthing can take up to 24 hours. In this litter it was 8 hours, however, Violet retained a puppy that was born 22 hours after the birth of the first puppy. She was stillborn. Violet developed a serious uterine infection because of this, spiked a fever of 105. Violet is doing great now. She is on massisve doses of antibiotics for ten days. The puppies are being bottled fed twice a day to put probiotics in their systems to counter the effects of the antiobiotics in their mother's milk on their systems. The first puppy was born at 7:30 AM on 9/12/09: Ms Pink @ 7:30 AM Mr. Red @ 8:36 AM Ms. Violet @ 9:04 AM Ms Cornflower @ 9:50 AM Mr. Green @ 10:35 AM Mr. Orange @ 12:05 PM Mr. Blue @ 12:25 PM Mr. Purple @ 3:34 PM A little stillborn girl was born 9/13/09 @ 5:30 AM. Birthing puppies is a natural event and can be with great sorrow and stress.
One week old A pile of puppies Wait, Is Mother coming?? Here is Mother, quick to the dinner table!! He who hesitates is last. I am trying to get there but not seeing or hearing yet slows us down. Isn't my family lovely and I got a new haircut since you last saw me They are mine all mine. Little boy blue having a snug fest with Mother. Very sleepy all! Where did mother go, to tired to notice.

Eating lots & growing F A S T !! AH! FIRST MEAL OUT OF A DISH DISH IS 8" DIAMETER, PUPPIES STILL IN WHELPING BOX A VISITOR--OH, MAYBE MY NEW LOVE! LEARNING AT 4 WEEKS TO LOVE ARMS KISSES!!! A SHOELACE TO UNTIE, WHAT MORE CAN A PUPPY WANT?? A LAP FOR OUR WEARY PUPPY BODIES. FIRST BIG BOWL DINNER, DISH IS 18 INCHES IN DIAMETER YUMMY IN THE TUMMY. WHERE DID IT ALL GO???? FULLY BELLY, TIME TO SLEEP.
In the morning .. in the evening .. ain't we got FUN!! Why are we in here .. where are we going .. when will we get there .. hey is it soup yet?? We want out .. we want out .. we want .. OUT! Here comes Trevorwood Peppermint Patty [Great Aunt of the the puppies] to join the ogling! Oh .. my .. my .. what beautiful puppies you have Sweet Violet! We all agree .. indeed! :-)
A typical day at the shop taken 10/27 That is a big dog next door and he has a very very big bark!!!! When will he stop barking at us, his bark is as big as he is. Inside for nap time, fresh air makes us soooooo tired!
